Damn it, Powell’s!

I received a minor windfall in the mail today, from a class action that I thought was already all played out. This is nice, because receiving windfalls of any sort isn’t typical for me (that I received it the same day as a Whole Foods gift card is extra special).
Normally, I know exactly where that money would be going: bills! And so will most of this (well, my OMSI and zoo memberships have lapsed, so that is actually where the money shall go). But a minor windfall deserves a small, local spree before the rest is allotted, and I would ordinarily hie myself off to Powell’s to spend a little something on myself.
Except that I’m mad at Powell’s. So I can’t buy this or this or this or this. Not locally, anyway.
This is messing with my style. I am the person who buys books when she has a little cash. I could buy a new journal. I could get cupcakes. Or baking supplies. (I would spend in music, except that I recently received iTunes gift cards and I’m set for a little while.) I have my dividend from REI and the 20% off coupon, I guess, but I can’t think of anything I need there (except a bike, and until I have adequate life insurance, I’m not going down that road).
Oh, what to do, what to do.

YAY free money!!
How about you buy some good wine for yourself? Or pay for a babysitter and you and M have a date? Or buy yourself a massage? or buy P something that will occupy her for hours on end?
Oh man, if I had a little money, I would totally buy fabric! I am trying to be good and use scraps and bits of fabric from old shirts and stuff, but my sewing friends are all on fabric buying sprees and I am jealous jealous jealous!
