Voila, my desk.

Because you were just dying to see it again, I’m sure.
The clock/timer was a super-cheap purchase at IKEA one day (I’ve never seen them again there) and I have one because Pea wanted one and I thought they were cool. So, I bought two, because she would otherwise always be stealing mine; she is as clock obsessed as I am. (Maybe it’s an OCD thing; I just like to always see the time.) Also, I like to use a timer when I’m working, to keep me focused and on-task. I’ll set it for thirty minutes or so and not let myself do anything else until I’ve finished some arbitrary target and/or the timer goes off.
Because I work partially in my chair and partially at my desk, I always have a long power cord loose; there’s no getting around that I’ll always have some cable clutter.
I have my laptop bag and a bag of craft materials hanging from hooks near the desk (they’re the BJÄRNUM Folding hook — probably one of the most useful products IKEA makes) so they’re off the floor. Because I’m prone to work all over the loft (or on the roof, or at a coffee shop), I like to keep things in bags. I have a reading bag with my current book, the craft bag, the laptop bag… I am a bag lady, what can I say?
After a year and a half with no desk, it’s nice to have one again. It’s weird to get back in the habit of two screens, after swearing I’d never go without. (I use one screen for mail/twitter/browsers and the other for work.)
My beautiful black leather desk chair is in storage. I’m still debating about whether or not to pull it out. Yes, it’d be great for my back, but it’s massive, and I’d almost have to do away with my sitting area if I did it, so I’m suffering with the folding chair for now.
