The great glad tidings tell

The best part of Christmas is music. When I was a child, it was sacred music, exquisitely executed by professional musicians and choirs with paid soloists — and enthusiastic, off-tune hymns belted out by parishioners. I loved both.
I still love both. I have a 19 hour 22 hour* holiday music playlist, and I’ll listen to it non-stop until Christmas. And I will enthusiastically belt out, off-tune, those hymns to Pea, too. (Fortunately for Pea, M has an incredible baritone and ear, so she’ll get a few in-tune hymns, too.)
Here’s my Christmas Playlist. If I had to pick an absolute favorite, it’d be O Come, O Come, Emmanuel (but that’s with one arm tied behind my back; I love so many of them).
What’s your favorite?
*After I posted this, I realized I’d left a bunch off the list! Corrected now.

O Holy Night, for sure. But there has to be some sick crescendo leading up to fall on your knees otherwise it’s not. Then its that Weezer Christmas song.
Any chance you’d post some of your stuff as a dl? HA HA ONLY KIDDING GOVERNMENT THEFT MONITORS STOP ALL THE DOWNLOADING etc.
Sounds like Pea will get plenty of live music
!
i think you’re missing (i.e., my favorites are): The Christmas Wish (and The Peace Carol and the Twelve Days of Christmas) from A Christmas Together – John Denver & The Muppets and Bing Crosby & David Bowie’s Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy medley, but what do i know? ;-p
Any chance of you Spotifying some/all of these? I’m not really active on Spotify, but I will remedy that.
My modern favorites are The Christmas Song (“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”), Baby It’s Cold Outside, the Charlie Brown Christmas Song, The Christmas Waltz, and Christmas Wrapping; I like all the hymns. I love Silent Night when we sing all 5 verses in multiple harmonies in church.
OK! I have my playlist on Spotify now. Almost all of the songs are DRM-free, but few random ones aren’t. (So annoying.)
