Zoo, 36 degrees
Not the coldest it’s ever been when we’ve visited the zoo (that would be in the 20s), but it was chilly! Still, we made it almost four hours, had lunch with a friend, saw the new cheetahs up close, watched a keeper try to coax dwarf mongoose into a crate with really wiggly grubs, and had good interactions with the African birds (without being splattered).
Also, when will I learn that when Pea says, “Oh, that’s an oxpecker [or other bird species]!” I should just take her at her word? Because I am always wrong.
All in all, a lovely, cold, gray Oregon day with my daughter. I’ll take it.
