My mom went in Wednesday with chest pains and numbness in her legs. They admitted her and couldn’t find anything. Pretty sure it’s just a blood pressure thing. My ER doctor father-in-law said no answer is the best possible solution because it means no damage is done and it’s not serious. I missed two days of class and lost my entire weekend in SmallTown, so I beg to differ.
Thanks, all! Yeah, it sucks. And hurts. I like theory 2, that it’s an esophageal spasm (which I’m told feels exactly like heart pain) but I’m having the joy of a nuclear-imaging cardiac stress test Monday and spending the weekend on beta-blockers and aspirin. Apparently there’s no caffeine allowed 24 hours prior. So I get run on a treadmill. Hungry. And with a raging caffeine headache. I can tell you who will be feeling more stressed by the time I’m done…
Yay for not dying! Boo for mystery pains.

Hope you figure it out!
Medical mystery haiku? Feel better!
I hope it’s gas and that the four-hour wait is the worst part. Feel better!
Good luck, hope the pain goes away quickly, and that you get some clear insight into what is causing it!
