Or also, “Fun with Pea.”
There’s some road construction on the way to Pea’s school, and the two-lane road narrows to one lane, with flaggers on either side of the construction zone indicating to motorists when to go. Until yesterday, we’d only seen male flaggers.
Pea saw the flagger as we went by. “Mom! A woman! And she’s beautiful!” She was awestruck.
And a few days previously…
M and I have been joking about this Tick clip since it aired, because yes, we watched these on Saturday mornings when they first came out and even recorded them on VHS for a long time.
I was talking to Pea in the car, and we were talking about planets. I asked her what her favorite planet is.
She said, in a very no-nonsense way, “The Earth. That’s where my stuff is.”
I just about died, especially since I don’t think we’ve joked about it in front of her. Some days, I love this kid so much it hurts.

And, thanks for the cartoon break. I am now ready to tackle evidence once again.
I used to deliver pizza and one time a young boy opened the door and was surprised to see a girl delivering pizza. I heard him run to another room and say, “Mom, there’s a GIRL and she says she’s got our pizza!” I heard the mom say, “Okay, did you pay her?” and he said, “Girls don’t deliver pizza!”
